THE HEADIES 2013 ROOKIE COMPETITION IS HERE

The Headies is once again giving one talented upcoming artists, a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on the big stage.The same competition which saw Burna Boy and Dammy Krane came out tops last year will kick off on the 9th of Decemeber, 2013 and ends on 20th of December 2013. Over the next week, members of the public will suggest names of talented upcoming acts who meet the eligibility criteria of the Headies 2013 Rookie Competition.Voting will be via SMS and emails. Once voting is over, the act with the highest votes will be announced as the winner and gets to perform on the same stage as top notch Nigerian music stars at the event proper which will be viewed by millions all around the world, as it will be streamed live both on satelitte/terrestiail TV and online platforms.This is a life changing oppurtunity for the artists as The Headies as always will be attended by top media personalities, brand representatives, record label executives, A/R persons and top notch celebrities.

Modality of Competition December 9:SMS votes commences.
December 24: Top three artists with the highest votes will be announced with the winner been the artists with the highest number of nomination.

Eligibility Criteria
1:Has never been nominated for/wonany award categories at The Headies (including nominations at this year’s event)
2:Has at least one officially released single in the Nigerian music market.
3: Has no album(s) to his/her name released before June 2013.
4:Is a citizen of Nigeria (not open to foreign nationals).
5:Has none or not more than 2 videos.NOTE: SMS WILL ACCOUNT FOR 65% OF COUNTED VOTES, WHILE EMAILS WILL ACCOUNT FOR THE REMAINING 35%.
